Cambridge’s Durigon Competing at Pan American Water Ski Championships

In a city known for its talent on the water, another water skier with a Cambridge connection is getting ready to compete at an international event.

Wendy Durigon will be skiing in the 45+ slalom event at the upcoming IWWF 35+ Pan American Water Ski Championships in Harmony, North Carolina.

“Water Ski Canada is proud to announce the dynamic roster of 29 distinguished athletes set to represent Canada,” Water Ski Canada said in a press release.

“These athletes are ready to showcase their skills and commitment on the international stage, competing for gold and glory.”

Not only will Durigon be showcasing her skill out on the open water, she’s doubling as the team’s manager on a staff led by coach Pierre Plouffe.

A familiar face on the local water ski scene, Durigon can often be found training out on Puslinch Lake with the McClintock's’ Water Ski School and Club. The school is co-owned by Cambridge’s Jason McClintock.

“Join us in cheering on Team Canada as they prepare for this prestigious event and chase gold,” the release continued.

“Your unwavering support propels our athletes to achieve their very best.”

The event runs from Sept. 18 to 24 at Skyview Lake.
